How to Cook
01

Rinse & Soak (optional)

Wash rice and moong dal together. Soak for 15–20 mins for better texture.

02

Tempering

Heat ghee or oil in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds, cloves, and hing. Let them sizzle. Add chopped tomatoes. Cook till soft and pulpy.

03

3. Spice It Up

Add turmeric, chili powder, and salt. Mix well.

04

4. Add Grains & Water

Add soaked rice and dal. Mix. Pour in 4 cups water (for soft, porridge-like khichdi — adjust if you like it firmer).
